My name is Jack and I hail from the coastal city of Newcastle, NSW, and I am currently in my final year of study in the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) program at the University of Newcastle before I embark on my journey as an intern pharmacist in 2022.
Prior to being elected to the NAPSA board, I have served two terms as President (2020 and 2021) in my local branch UoNAPS, as well as a term as Vice-President (2019). I have also served on the Newcastle Congress Organising Committee for Congress 2020, which is where I first became heavily involved in NAPSA and what it offers pharmacy students across Australia.
As an Executive Director of NAPSA I oversee internal and external affairs of our organisation, ranging from aiding in local branch handovers briefing newly elected President and executives, updating the Advisory Council (AC) on organisation operations, advocating on behalf of local branches, and working with the NAPSA President to liaise with national pharmacy organisations to name a few.
I’m excited to work with the AC directly, whom I have built relationships with as a President sitting on the AC myself and imparting the knowledge and skills I have developed to lead effectively. I’m also looking forward to working alongside our President Verity and with our professional organisations to deliver educational and sponsorship opportunities which our local branches can access. It’s my role to ensure Presidents are aware of the opportunities NAPSA is creating for all pharmacy students in Australia and getting that information to their respective students.
