It is with great honour that I would like to introduce myself as the National President of NAPSA for the 2021/22 term. I am a current Fourth Year student undertaking my Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) / Master of Pharmacy at Monash University in Melbourne.
Prior to stepping into the role of NAPSA President, I served as the Research Chair for the 2020/21 term. This novel position saw me work alongside former Executive Director Juliet Contreras, to establish the world’s first Australian Pharmacy Students’ Journal (APSJ) and promote pharmacy research at an undergraduate level through the provision of workshops, resources, and mentoring partnerships.
Outside of NAPSA, I have represented the Monash University Pharmacy cohort on a number committees since my first year of university. It was through these roles that I developed my passion for ensuring pharmacy students receive representation and advocation so as to enhance our university experience.
Through my role as the NAPSA President, I hope to work closely with the highly capable team of NAPSA Executive Directors, NAPSA Chairs and the Advisory Council, to continue the fantastic work of our predecessors in strengthening the knowledge and experiences of pharmacy students and interns throughout Australia, and ensuring that their future is prosperous.
I hope to inspire a greater passion for the pharmacy profession through facilitating discussions and connections with professional organisations and industry bodies, and ensuring that we provide our members with opportunities for professional engagement, growth and networking that will assist in their development into exemplary pharmacy graduates.
